Our very first day:
Heard on Deutsche Radio Kultur tonight: two slow jazz songs, I think one of them was Billy Holiday, followed by a track from Metallicas new album, interesting choice by the dj`.
The news at seven started off with the following bulletin, as far as I could understand them: Pope Benedict, Paris, fundamentalist Muslims
The skies are grey, but everywhere I look is lovely, lush green. On the way here from Munich airport I spotted at least five forests I would love to explore with my bike. All sorts of trees, but mostly tall ones, making the forest quite dark and with much foliage on the ground, wonder what it would be like with a bike in there.
Heard on the bus: Most Germans seem to look down on Bavarians, and make jokes about them, unjustly so, it seems, as this province is apparently the most affluent of all German provinces, has ancient culture and traditions which seem to revolve around a deep connection to the land and nature
There is a huge cross in my room, not sure how I feel about it, it doesn’t bother me in principle at all, just weird to have it there. I stared at it for about 20 seconds.
Shabbat Shalom from Bavaria. (Amir)

Waking up in my house in Jaffa, the Muslim part of Tel Aviv traveling to Bavaria to Irsee monastery and spending the day with Jewish and Christian Germans is indeed a cross cultural experience, lets hope that this diversity will inspire us during the week.
—
For some Germans, coming to Bavaria always is a small trip abroad.

As my grandmother says: “yesterday is a history tomorrow is a mystery , today is a gift- that why it is called The present”. (Osnat)

So many impressions in such a short time… wow. I have to sleep about it to recognize how lucky I am – we are – being here with so many great people. I am so keen on learning, learning about Israel, the Jewish culture (which is amazing) and the people. (Bilkay)

It’s always fun meeting new people, and this time it’s double the pleasure. After a long day of traveling we were received with smiles and wonderful hospitality. It’s only been a few hours, and seems like it’s going to be an amazing experience. Can’t wait to see and hear what’s next. Greeting from Irsee (Lior)

Our first day in Irsee. Love the place, program thrilling, other participants interesting, bright, some of the best minds of our countries. Can we make a difference just because we want to? (christian)

Starting the day
—
Summing up the first day, I have more questions than answers. How is this week going to look like? What are the processes that the group is about to go through during the next days. So many thoughts and things that are still to be explored. (Lee)
—
I couldn’t ask for a better start such as this one. You couldn’t miss The positive energy of the first day. People here are amazing, and eager to know each other. This will surly lead the group to the right outcome.
Keep it this way! (Asaad)

It started with a big doubt: I’m moving away from my life for eight days and I don’t have a clue where am I going to. After some bureaucratic moves I found myself looking in 25 new people´s eyes and starting a new and very curious journey (Nirit)
—
Today I met 25 new friends, 25 new worlds to explore and 25 new ideas to exchange. Most of all, 25 new persons to learn from, mostly about myself. (Gilad)
